Write for us

Everyday World Journal welcomes pitches about a specific object, ritual, custom or visual detail that opens a clear window onto ordinary life. A strong proposal is curious, grounded and precise about what a reader will learn.

What to pitch

We are interested in reported or carefully researched features, concise explainers, comparisons and pieces of cultural history that fit our focus on material culture. Choose a defined subject and show why it is worth a closer look; broad surveys and generic lifestyle advice are unlikely to fit.

Make the proposal concrete

Include a working title, a short summary of the central idea, the approach you would take and any relevant sources or expertise. Tell us what makes the piece distinct and how you would handle differences in context. Please do not send a complete draft unless we request one.

Send a proposal

Proposals are sent through the Contact page. Choose the editorial question option and include your pitch in the message field. We cannot promise publication, a particular response time or payment terms before discussing a commission.
